Another light dash panel issue S90-V90 1997

Last night I experienced a bizzare problem. Without warning ALL my dash and console lights started flickering and then stayed off. The bumpy city streets seemed to exacerbate it. I immediately thought of a loose connection. I fiddled with the dimmer and noticed that the radio station window (displays the station) had NOTgone out, but did dim with the switch. I'm not sure about the tranny lights. But after several minutes dimming, it seemed to settle down and after dinner at a restaurant, never happened again, despite bumpy city roads. I'm suspecting the dimmer, but the combination of light that went out were not uniform or consistent with the dimmer control...very strange.

Any ideas?
