how about a 900 survey?

1993 N/A B230FD Station wagon 5spd
Driver side SRS, no ABS, ECC, factory alarm/remote, cruise control, Webasto ECC integrated gasoline heater
Aquired 1996 @ 88000km, 55000mi
Now @ 345000km, 216000mi
0,75-1,0 liters/10km, 31-24MPG
Rustproofed 2001, will repeat 2003.
All service & repairs done myself except air-con and steering alignment

Broken since bought.
Warranty items; Waterpump, SRS-unit, lumbar support, air-con (tubes leaked)

Non warranty; Right rear side window imploded when driving, servo-pump, AMM, radiator, crankshaft pilot bearing (changed clutch, throw-out bearing and rear main seal when transmission was down), three windshields, one head lamp glass, air-con again (condensor leaked), vacuum motor for ECC (not yet fixed).

Wear items; Rear door gas springs, rear brake calipers, shocks and springs x 4, all bushings and joints in front suspension, brake pads (rotors are due), most oil seals in motor and M47, exhaust behind cat twice, normal consumables (belts, plugs, distributor etc)

Some things are probably forgotten (I'm getting older too).
I usually think this is an almost maintenance free car but when I sum it up like this it looks like a crap-mobile!

Happy bricking
Mikael Larsson
