Reading this forum, I've discovered that this is a common problem with the old 700's we all have. On mine I think it is related to frayed wires coming from the sender but I have not in three years taken the time to look or diagnose too much. My solution is to use the trip odometer and when I get to 225 miles, I tank up again. I've gone as far as 250 and never run out of gas.--as to fixes, people have suggested giving the dash a hard rap, but that does not do anything for mine.
