Problem with my cassette player, no go. 200 1988

Bricksters and Brickettes,

1988 244 DL

My AM/FM cassette player (volvo stock) is not functioning correctly, the tape player doesn't work and I only get sound out of the passenger speaker. The driver speaker is good.

Is the radio kaput? Are these problems related?
