Bentley Manual test for fan clutch & water pump? 200

Still thinking the fan clutch or water pump is going out...When I squeeze the upper hose(engine hot), seems I can pinch it flat. Shouldnt there be more flow? Water pump not leaking, new tstat and rad. flush. Is there an air pocket? Followed the Haynes method of refilling the rad., I was wondering if Bentlys was better? (Let engine cool off, take off cap, squeeze hose and replace cap.) Any ideas?
