The one that let go on my 745 was the plastic metal, but there is no telling how old it was. I replaced with an new one from the dealer and that was the all plastic version.

I would hesitate to put a $14 dollar part there because if it lets go you are SOL.

OTOH, the problem with plastic is it tends to get brittle over the years (esp. when exposed to hot coolant), but my estimation is that it would be good for 10 years or so.
