Got mine at www.swedishenineering.com too.... it's all metal from the outside, seems real strong. But there must be something inside that's plastic, since the internal belows that changes the output must be flexible.

I just got to say that the 940 heater control is INCREDIBLE compared to the one on my old 240. Gads... just tweak the dial one little click and you can immediately feel the change of temperature. FAR CRY from the ROAST and FREEZE options on the 240.
