Removing body panels -- Ideas?

Woldn't you try to save yourself $300-600 in new body panel part and refinishing is you could....

DIY ??

My challange is to go to a junkyard with common hand tools to remove a good vertical trunk panel and replace my cars damaged panel.

This needs is to:

1. remove the seam sealer material to expose the spot welds

2. cut out the spot welds

3. separate the body panels

4. do this twice!

Silly me, I can't think of a way to remove the seam sealer material. Blow torch and putty knife?

Next, will a rechargable drill eqipped with a spot weld cutting bit be enough to cut out all the welds before is dies?

Last, Do those body separating knives like seen in the Eastwood Company catalog really work?

Is this worth doing myself?
