Bought a 122s wagon today for cheap!!! One small problem though...

I would think it's safe to assume the M40 is dead, (see I never used tranny, didn't have to type long words). Cheapest way to figure out whether the M41 is OK is probably to fit it to a car. All you need are a shorter propshaft and a longer speedo cable, a switch, some wire and a relay. A new gearbox mount is a good idea too.


It may be worthwhile resealing the overdrive. As a first step look whether there are bits of gearbox clinging to the magneic drain plug or lurking in the overdrive filter.
