When I get on the brakes lightly, I hear a squeak coming from somewhere in the back of the car. It will squeak-squeak-squeak in synch with wheel speed all the way to a stop. Must be rear brakes, right? Here's the catch: I hear the same noise when lift quickly off the throttle in low gear (1st or 2nd) WITHOUT touching the brakes. It will go SQUEAK-Squeak-squik (loud-quieter-quietest). Plus it won't squeak if I just lift the handbrake. So it seems to be related to weight transfer, rather than braking. Is there a particular bushing that could be the culprit?
As for the kablam, this is a low noise that emanates from the rear when I brake while reversing. It will do it on the first brake application while in reverse, but not on immediate subsequent brake applications during the same reversing. Make sense? Almost like something takes a temporary set. Same deal when I pull the handbrake while going forward-- it will kablam with the first pull of the handbrake, but not on immediate subsequent yanks. It will kablam again, however, if I wait and travel a few miles down the road normally and pull the handbrake again. Again, like something takes a temporary set, then loosens up again shortly after.
Any ideas?
