Strange.
Keep in mind that your handbrake works on a different set of Pads then your regular Braking. The handbrake is a Drum type shoe withing the Disc itself. So you really are not isolating the problem by using just the handbrake.
Wheel speed affects the noise. I would still suspect the brakes, Perhaps the Calipers are loose or the pins holding that Pads in are not in correctly, something that would cause a one time movement for your Kablam noise.
