Slow to Start 90' 740 w/ B230, non-Turbo

I also have a 1990 745 that does the same thing. It has a Regina system. I'm told it's just that way. Mine was a little more extreme though. The first start of the day took about three or four seperate tries to start. I learned that if I turned the key on and off about five times without turning it all the way to start, it would start right up on the first try. Sort of like I was priming the engine. It's kind of sad I have to do this, but it works. The starting issue is the only thing I don't like about this car. Oh yeah, and the brakes. The Volvo dealer couldn't figure it out and my mechanic didn't have any info on the Regina system. Frustrating... At least my 1979 245 starts right up.
I was told the fuel check valve is near the fuel pump. If you have a Regina system there is only one fuel pump and it's in the tank. But I have never attempted to get in there to look at it. Good Luck.
