Has anyone had a differential sieze up on a 240?

Are you absolutely sure that the problem is not worn torque rod bushings?

Put it another way...have any of the rear bushings ever been replaced? At 200K miles, they are more than likely "due," and if sufficiently worn, can allow the rear end to shift around a bit, say when you're braking hard or reversing direction. ;-)

FWIW...have an '85 240 that is rapidly approaching 400k miles on original rear axle/differential. Might be the only original part on the old bucket..
