Throttle-plate springed 'valve'... 200 1979

Hello again,

I am going to remove most of the throttle-plate's shaft on my 1979 B21F to gain a little more airflow. The said throttle-plate also exhibits a 1/2 inch-high springed "valve".

Other throttle-plates I have from B23Es do not have that "valve". May I, in my endeavor to gain a little more airflow, swap-in one of those "valveless" throttle-plates or must I stick to the "valved" one?

What can I say but...thanks!
