AMEN BROTHER!!!!

>It strikes me as irresponsible that manufactures would make heater cores so inaccessible. Some are worse than others. But It can’t get any worse than a 965 with ECC. <

AMEN BROTHER!!!!

Having also done said gruesome chore on my old 245, I'm with you 100% on that one!

WHY can't they just design a little hatchway door on the passenger well side where the mechanic can open it up and just slide the heater core out... without touching any of the BILLION and one other parts. I found the vacuum servo system on the 245 to be an especial nightmare.

Now you know the cruel irony of that old Volvo joke that the heater core is the first thing rolling down the assembly line at Gothenburg... and that everything else is attached to it!

Anyhow, you can stand tall now... you've earned your Volvo Mechanic Stripes!!!
