Worn out B230FT

There is no way no externally identify the 13mm connecting rods. To be sure that you have 13mm conecting rods on a 1989 engine you would need to pull the pan. All 1990 and later engines have the large connecting rods. The engine casting date is under the right hand motor mount and the head casting date is on the rear of the head. Do you need pictures?
