Worn out B230FT

If I remember correctly, my 89 745T was bought new in the winter of 88. Does this make it a K block, and would it also have the 13MM rods? My engine serial number does not have a K in it, but I understand that not all K blocks have a K in their serial number. Are there 89 model year 740's that didn't get the big rods? (Still chasing 50rpm fluctuation)
