engine conversion on 780

Do some research. By the time the 780 came out, the sickly B28F had been replaced with the far more robust B280F.

Any swap that doesn't involve a Ford or Chevy V-8 takes you into uncharted territory.

Another option is the aforementioned B230FT.

Here's another one: the Eagle Premier/Dodge Monaco V-6. It is a 3 liter motor, a direect decendant of the PRV. Several DeLorean owners have gone this route.
