1985 240 DL Starter Question 200

Hello all,

The starter on my 1985 240 DL finally went out. I think it's the original one, and at over 150 kMi, I forgive it ... Anyway, I ordered a new Bosch remanufactured one from www.buyeuroparts.com. The starter came in, and it's model SR37X, as is stated on the box. HOWEVER, it appears that the new one is much smaller than the old one. It appears that it will attach (same shape of the attachment and solenoid fittings), but the size of the starter itself is smaller! Is this normal?
If so, did Bosch just improve/update their design, or are they skimping?

Many thanks,
Greg
