ditto again

i've never taken my car (or my parents' cars) to the dealer for repairs. people don't call them the "stealer" for nothing ya know.

only reason i go to the dealer is to get a part that i need immediately that might be unavailable anywhere else, like the time a caliper guide pin bent while i was trying to hammer it out and i needed the car the following day.

most of the time now, i can order my parts online ahead of time and bring it to my mechanic and have them put it in, or i can put it on myself, which makes my relationship with the dealer that much better because i rarely ever go there ;) the last time i went there for a throttle body gasket, he gave me a few for free... not that they're worth that much anyway, but it's the thought that counts.
