Volvo has lost a 21 year customer

Hey Chuck:

Did Borton offer you the coffee bar? When I went to Borton to get a 2-notch head gasket for my T-Diesel not only was I refused coffee but being in uniform at the time (police officer) most of the salesmen were going out of the way to AVOID me! Aside from that I almost got reamed for $323.00 for the gasket and they had the gall to advise me the gasket warrenty would be void if I did not have their "technician" properly do the work... I flat out refused and bought the gasket from Drivewire.com, the same exact gasket was under $80.00 with 2-day shipping.

When Borton was actually owned by Kjell it was an EXCELLENT Volvo dealership with a spotless reputation and salesmen who would talk plain english. My family has bought many bricks from the old Kjell (cant spell the last name)everything ranging from a new 1976 265DL and 79 262 flathood. After I believe 1987 they went downhill with the Borton name and they talk to nobody that makes less than six figures and has stock options.

I would't go blaming Volvo right off the top as a whole, sure they have a snooty attitude but if you find the right dealer the snooty attitude seems to dissolve itself with honesty. Look for an older well established dealership that is owned by an old swedish guy.
