700 Ball Joint Replacement

Now is an excellent time to change out the shock cartridges and check the upper strut bearing...you may have the older version that is easily cleaned and relubed (recommend waterproof synthetic grease) like my 87 760T, the conical bushings on the radius rods and the swaybar endlink bushings.

If you have abs, do NOT follow the book instructions to remove the sensor at the strut/bracket when you pull the strut from the car. I found out the hard way they are often destroyed upon removal...far better to disconnect the cable inside the engine compartment and snake it out the grommet holes...OTOH, maybe abs wasn't available in 83.
