Timing belt job update 900 1992

OK, I got all my in all parts, ready for the job. Pulled the serpentine belt, tensioner and t-belt cover....and thats where it stopped. I could not find any marks at all on the two top gears. The only mark I found were 2 letter "M"'s stamped on the face of the gear. At that pont after searching for about 30 minutes i decided to leave it be for now. I did inspect the belt and its in really good shape, so some fears of belt breakage any time real soon are over.Any insight as to what these marks look like?. i even took steel wool and lightly rubbed the front surface of the gears looking for somthing, and other than the M'S stamped on the gear face that was it.
