volvo b36 in 242

Is the B36 the motor on which the B18 was based? If it
is it is not likely to be a great motor for any car volvo
made since it would weigh a ton.

If it can use the same flywheel as a B18 then you get
a great choice of transmissions though none of them could
take big horsepower.

You might have an easier time dealing with a B30 in a
164. There is a well known upgrade path to this motor and
the suspension can be upgraded to make the car a nice
little car. A bored B30 (B33?) with a wild cam and fuel
injection and an M410 would make a tidy 250hp and still be
easy to drive.

Of course, a B36 would be a great conversation piece.
