GMB waterpump failure

I had to replace the GMB (lifetime warranty) waterpump on our 1991 745Turbo today. It was getting noisey and the bearings were allowing a lot of play in the shaft. It was installed about 2 1/2 years ago and only had 45,000 miles on it. I haven't been able to locate the receipt yet. I had it on the shelf when I bought this car and installed it along with timing belt, seals, drive belts and tensioner.

Has anyone had a warranty claim with GMB and if so how did it go? I have always used GMB and have never had a problem before. I replaced it with an Annex Technik (German) pump that I purchased the last time I restocked the Volvo parts inventory. Anyone have any feedback on those pumps?
