Aftermarket radiator/trans cooler - possible internal leak question?

I recently purchased a CSR radiator for the 965. When I picked it up I asked the shop owner about the large heater hose fitting in between the trans lines. He said it was to fit another car and it wasn't for the trans cooler. I know that my coolant return line on the 965 fits to the heater line from the block. My 240 has the coolant return line in between the trans lines on factory radiator. Today the capped off heater hose inlet on the CSR radiator started leaking trans fluid out of the plug. I tightened the hose clamp and it stopped I can only think that the trans cooler is leaking into where a coolant line could be used. I'll show the dealer tomorrow. Any thoughts. I've had this brand on other cars for many years with no problems. Thanks.
