760-T Grinding noise 700

Mystery of the week: driving down the road with my 760 wagon, hear a very faint grinding noise (kind of like just barely touching metal to a wire brush grinding wheel), sounds like it's coming from just under the e-brake area sometimes- sound source really hard to pin-point) Tends to get louder and more "grindy" when car turns to the left. I thought front brakes at first but there seems to be no problem up there (wheels spin fine and no noticeable rotor wear) + sounds more like drive-shaft area and sound pitch doesn't change when brakes applied although it does get louder as speed gets in the 15-20 mph area. Center driveshaft bearing?

Also- sudden problem with my 740 GLE. Starts fine, idles fine as long as you don't hit the throttle. If you do, it stutters like crazy. Try to drive before warmed up and it sputters and fights to get rolling. Same problem if I park for 20 minutes and try to get in and go. Plugs are new and gapped right, wires are fine. Cold choke issue? Easy fix?
