940 Aftermarket Radio install - lost 2 speakers! 900

My sister recently brought in her 94 940 to get a new head unit installed (JVC SX707 Mp3 deck). The place that installed the unit told my sister that they didn't connect the 2 front dash speakers because it 'sounds horrible'. Therefore, it is using only 4 speakers!

Does this sound right at all?? I mean it was working perfectly with the stock unit. I don't see how a new deck will affect the sound on the 2 dash speakers. I recognize that the stock amp is not used anymore which is ok as the new deck as 200watts to it.

Without the dash speakers, it doesn't sound full. Somehow, there isn't enough bass... it just seems like the new deck doesn't even sound as good as the stock!

Wondering if this makes sense to anyone here... I'm going to take the car back to place that installed it next week and get them to explain!
