Wouldn't a 750 be nice? 700

<rant>

I was pondering one day (as I often do... I have NO life.), wouldn't it be nice if there were a model between the 740 and the 760? One that had power mirrors, power sunroof, and a power driver's seat, but had the manual passenger, manual climate control, and live axel? If they had made a 750, they could offer the old dash with newer features (for instance the three dial climate control)... How about a 950? They could have kept the trend going and offered a 5 cylinder option. I mean... Really... I thought only Honda would put their most powerful production engine in a FWD vehicle.

Of course, how about shipping the smaller euro only models (3x0, 4x0) over here? Every mamma wants to buy their 16 year old a safe, small car that gets 9,000 miles to the gallon, and won't require the engine to be dropped to replace a stupid belt like the Escort they bought instead. Europe may have a badmonkey want for small hatchbacks, but look at the success of the Fox, Escort, and Focus? And anyway... It would have made them look better with the EPA.

Since the DMC-12 used a B28-like engine, do you think it would be too much harder to retrofit a 760 wagon with a flux cap? While I'm at it... Whatever happened to gull wing doors? Just asking.
