240 Overdrive Swap 200

i drive an 86 240 wagon, manual transmission. the overdrive seems to have died, and im about to purchase an overdrive and solenoid from an 83 volvo, which was also from a manual transmission. I just wanted to check and make sure the 83 overdrive would work fine on my 86 tranny. thanks!
