Hard start in cold weather????

Hello Josh,

I live in Calgary and last year (the winter here is mild currently) when things went to -20 to -30C, I would get the stumbling and running crappy symptoms for about 20 seconds and then the engine cut out. It would be nearly always flooded too. But when warm,(either after driving it in cold or in the 8 months of summer) the car ran great.

In order to solve my problem, I cleaned(lots of carb cleaner) and lubricated (WD-40) the IAC valve on my car and changed out the cap and rotor. Try the cleaning the IAC to see if that helps - also check to make sure that your O2 sensor is operating correctly. (See FAQ for more info)

Tim.
