Heated Seats

you need the thermostat! The wires will get hot enough to burn a hole in your seat. This can happen even with the thermostat. The wires are attached with tape at one end of the heater grid(really dumb idea). This dries out and the heater wires can shift away from the thermostat. Then you can get a meltdown. The easiest place to get a thermostat is at the junkyard, but I have not seen a thermostat fail yet. Try putting the thermostat in your fridge and see if it closes. Even the heat from your hands will cause the thermostat to open.
