Idle down Question 200 1983

My step brother just bought an 83 242Ti, B21Fti, everything is stock.

I've got it for the week tuning it up, adjusting, tinkering etc.

I have a question.

When I shift, the RPM's just do not drop! Even when coming to a stop, and I push in the clutch in the 4th gear, and roll to a stop, it takes for ever for the RPM's to drop! I can't figure it out! Any idea's?

The Vaccum lines are pretty messed up on the car. The thermo vaccum switch under the intake manifold, has nothing attached to it. Where would these lines go? What should be inline? any check valves etc? it idles fairly nice, starts really nice in the cold. Its a pretty damn nice car!

It averaged 30MPG on a 1200KM road trip down, not bad for a B21FTi

Thanks for any help!

Jordan
