hit curb with wheel on icy road, now loud noise + wobbling when turning 200

hi all,

while slowing down to turn into the parking lot at my university, i realized that i was sliding to the right.. into the curb. i wasn't going very fast, but as i turned to get into a parking spot, the wheel started making a horrible rubbing/grinding noise. also, it seemed to wobble from side to side slightly. needless to say, i won't be going to classes tomorrow. instead, i'll be calling someone to pick it up and look at it. can anyone give me an idea of what's wrong? a car-savvy friend said i may have bent the tire rod, which makes me think it's going to cost a mint. thanks much.
