PROBLEM POSSIBLY FIXED!!!--but it ain't gonna be cheap

I've got some good news and some bad news. The good news is that the ignition module is cheaper than the ECU. The bad news is that it's still $700.

I know because I just priced both at the local dealer. I was facing an upgrade for my 556 ECU which would require changing the ignition module as well (found a used ECU for now...)

Of course, there are several online parts sources that people on the board recommend regularly, with prices lots cheaper than blessed Volvo Original Parts.

But it's still a big-ticket item.

Good luck.

Doug Harvey
