Yeah, I can support it. It is so stated in the service manuals [volvo green books] for my '83 240. And I'll give you a little empirical data. My vehicle rarely idles longer than 5minutes, and I can not recall idling longer than 20 minutes in the 20 years I have owned the car. Still have original cat which passes inspection without fail. You want to take a chance, idle 'til your heart's content.
