OilSeals - Filter - Startup - Flametrap - Question 700

86 740 GLE
My front oilseal was blown out the second time in 4 years.

The PCV / Flametrap and hoses are clean and not clogged.
Question 1: For what is the brass flametrap anyway?

I had an oilchange about 2 weeks ago.
Question 2: Could it be, that at the startup after the oilchange
with a new! filter there is a peak in crankcase pressure
which leds to the blown seals?

Most probably there was a backfire during startup a cold
engine one early morning. Though I didn't notice any mishaps.
Question 3: In order to prevent backfires, would it help
to release the starter/ignition key maybe a half second later,
just to make sure the engine is running instead of 'burping'.

Besides these 3 points I'm clueless what makes the seals move?

TIA
