odd stalling then hard to restart problem...help! 200 1986

I cleaned the throttle body in August as well as I could with carb cleaner. That helped the car smooth out. but it wasn't bad to begin with. I didn't change the gasket. I'm sure that's part of the problem. In regards to the idle control motor, I've been to the boneyard (also in the summer) and picked out three of these and cleaned one, checked it to make sure it clicked open and closed and installed it (that was a big time bitch btw). This fall, my mechanic ran a quick test on it and thinks it's shot, so maybe I'll take this one out and install the last one I still have kicking around. He says it's not uncommon for these to fail after so many years.
In regards to the vacuum hoses, are these something I can replace myself or should I bring it in for my mechanic to do them? I'm sure they're old by now. Infact, I was putting some belt dressing on the other day while the car was idling and I noticed a slight blip in the revs when some of the spray lube got near the throttle body area.
Now it just has to get warmer outside...

Any other thoughts? I'd really appreciate it. Thanks in advance.
