all season replacement tires

I'm the guy that bought the beautiful '87 240dl wagon from this site's classifieds.
I'm in need of advice about replacement tires. It's currently wearing 185/65r14, and I don't want to change wheels, so I understand I'm locked into this size. The car is a daily driver in downtown Indy with some hiway miles.
A national tire dealer told me of an imminent sale on Dunlop sp40 in the $40.00
range. Anyone have experience with this brand? Advice please.
