Greetings:

I got caught in a serious snow storm this evening, and i had to go up a semi-incline (not too steep). I sort of got caught mid-way, and the rear wheels began to loose traction. Eventually i gain traction (2-4 minutes later). It was a gradual consistent traction, not one spot tire burning. My question is should i replace the differential fluid, and tranny fluid, whereas the 2 fluids may have become degraded somewhat. I was looking at about 1,000 or so miles later? I just replaced the diffential fluid and tranny fluid about 2,000 miles ago. I am just concern with any damage that i may have caused by scaling this hill in this fashion. I never raced it, it was gradual say around 2-2500 rpm's. I did see a little tire smoke. I usually replace my tranny fluid every 5,000 miles and my differential fluid every 8-10,000 miles. What is the longevity of a rear differential/axle that is cared for religiously? The transmission shifts flawlessly!!
