How to remove the exterior sheet metal panel of a sunroof? 700 1988

Hello,

This may seem like an odd question, but I figured that if I threw it out here someone could help me. I have removed the entire sunroof assembly from my car and it's sitting in my basement. I would like to have the hole which is now in the roof welded up. I figured the exterior panel of the sunroof would probably be the easiest thing to use rather than have the body shop fabricate something to fit. So anyway, has anyone ever removed this panel? In case you're wondering, I do have some good reasons for removing it ;) The sunroof assembly is very broken, and I'm not really crazy about them anyway. Also, it should add some stiffness to the body for auto-xing, and it just looks cool. I've only seen one 700 series (early '84 760-very unique car) without one. Good conversation piece.

Thanks,

Matthew
