For those of you who do not know it, http://www.craigslist.org/ , first, has many car ads--including Volvos-and large host of other "things" and services. Craigslist is primarily made up of ads directed towards the "west coast" populace. I found something the other day on craigslist-a few people offer to do a Carfax report on a VIN for you and email it to you at anywhere from $1 to $2 per vin check, for those who do not want to subscribe to Carfax. (and no, I am not doing that.). I did try it myself for one VIN -and it is legit--you use PayPal to send the buck--the guy subscribing to Carfax makes a little $$$ after he does "X" number of VIN checks--don't know if it is very lucrative--but anyway, just wanted to let the BBers know about it.
