seat heater switches 200

Lank,

When I replaced my son's trashed 1983 244Ti front seats with a later model heated pair (w/switches) ... I simply rerouted the wires to the dash panel and poped the switches into a couple of blank spots. Worked like a charm. So yes, mounting the switches high instead of between the seats works. And it's a relatively easy job. You may have to extend some wires ... but a little good quality insulated wire and heat shrink should resolve that. Good Luck.
