Anyone use that heat resistant foil wrap on turbo/intercooler hoses? 700

After discovering a hole in the pipe from the AMM to the turbo (1988 745 turbo), i was thinking of replacing it, then covering it with that heat resistant foil wrap to keep the engine heat from getting to it. Would this be a good idea? What about wrapping the intercooling piping as well?
