Opening Ignition Switch (Electrical Part) 200 1982

Hey guys,

Well my ignition switch on my 82 244 Diesel just went south and won't keep the fuel shutoff solenoid on during cranking. I just pulled the little electrical majigy (http://img.eautopartscatalog.com/live/M505056518STP.JPG that) out and am trying to open it up to clean the contacts... I've tried small screwdrivers, pliers, force, and even a rasp on the table, but I can't get the brown plastic part (with all the connectors comeing out) off of the metal body (with the mechanical connection point for the ignition lock assembly). Can anyone help me open this up?

I don't want to pay $60 for one of these little itty bitty things...

Help!
Mike

P.S. A big shout out to Robert Ludwick for all his help in my trials and tribulations! Cheers!
