Something is limitting my rpm to 5000 140-160 1972

Ok, after the FI conversion I made... the engine runs quite good, and seems to have more power than the twin SU. (or maybe it's just my feeling.) Well, it won't rev beyond 5000, first I thought it was the FI- so I put the SUs back in... same thing. Could it be valve float? I've checked the valve clearence, timing, carburetion, and etc. It pulls really nice to 5000 and then just drops off, I mean no power at all. I am suspecting worn valve guides making the valves vibrate in the hole it's supposed to move in... could that be a posibility? (that akinda annoying since I thought it was the FI setup and took it all apart...) Well, I have also attached a picture of the FI setup. BTW, It uses a Mercedes 280E K-jet system and a custom intake.
