*Update* Quickie alternator conversion 140-160

I gambled on the Bosch regulator...hooking D- to ground as I had suspected. Amp light came on with the ignition, and went off immediately upon startup. So I think I nailed it. Havn't hooked up the voltmeter though. Used all the old wiring from teh motorola setup. Just had to put a spade clip on the green field wire at the regulator.

So...that is to say... YES, it started! And I drove the 145 today. Ran out of time though, so I didn't get it totally running right. More work on that tomorrow. So, the engine is a bit of an unknown still. Seems OK though. All the other conversion and swapping of parts seems great. No bad noises. Shifts good. Reverse is quiet :-) Seems the trick here is to get it to idle well, and start OK...and not knock & ping. Right now, I can only get two of those criteria at once. But...I'll get it right soon enough.
