96 960 Heater S90-V90

Hi everyone,
I have been slowly loosing coolant through my heater, When I turn the car off the windows fog up and there is a sometimes a few drops coolant on the floor in the morning. How can I find out if I need a new gasket or a whole new heater core. The gasket is $8 from fcp groton and the heater core is $110 so this can make a big difference. Or does anyone think it could be a different problem. Thanks for any replies. I have had the hoses changed and am using Volvo Coolant.
