Problems with my distributor 200

I have an '87 240 DL, and lately it all of a sudden dies. I have narrowed it down to the distributor itself as the problem. I have new plugs, wires, cap & rotor, and have tested resistance on the ignition coil. I think the problem lies in the connector on the side of the distributor. I have thoroughly checked the wires coming in, and they (3) are all clean. I can barely touch the connector coming out of the distributor however, and get the car to immediately shut off. Should I just replace my distributor, or should I try to take it apart and fix the connector?
Thanks.
This is my first time posting...I love my Volvo...ps I have a Z car too!
