There is a good chance that it is the overdrive relay. I believe in your car it is in the second row on the right of the relay tray under the ashtray. Remove the relay and take off the case. Resolder the circuit board and you may be back in the overdrive business. If it is not the relay it could be the wiring under the car to the solenoid or from the switch. Occasionally it can be traced to the overdrive solenoid itself, but not as often as the other possibilities.
